My Process

Scoping out the Project

What is your site about? What goal do you have in mind in constructing your website? Do you have any preexisting branding or web material?

You and I will work together through whatever available means to discover and shape your vision. We will come up with a course of action and a timeline. We will discover any special design features you would like to integrate (photo albums, Flash, RSS feeds, forms, etc.) At the end of this process, we will agree on a contract.

Information Architecture

What does your content look like? How would you like your navigation to be structured? How will users get from one page to the next?

You will provide me with the details of your content, and what parts are the most important to create a “site map”. We will talk about which parts of your site will be frequently updated.

Site Layout

How should your site look? What content should be the most prominent? How are we going to integrate your special features?

We will look at other web designs you like, including your competitors, and parts of other websites you may want to integrate into your new site. We will talk about the different features of your site and how best to fit them into a cohesive design.

Site Building

Using XHTML and CSS and whatever languages necessary, I code using web standards and assure cross-browser/platform compatibility. Site designs are based in CSS layouts.

Finishing Touches

Content implementation, planning for future site updates, and site launch!
